Originally from Pasadena, California, Coach Demus also spent significant time in Texas, a state where football is deeply rooted in the culture and community. Those experiences helped shape his passion for the game and his approach to developing athletes both on and off the field.

Demus continued his football career at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, where he competed at the collegiate level as a dominant force along the offensive and defensive lines. His playing career instilled in him the physicality, discipline, preparation, and toughness that have become foundational elements of his coaching philosophy.

Following his playing career, Coach Boyd transitioned his passion for football into coaching and mentorship. He has worked with youth and high school athletes throughout the North Sound, including coaching at Marysville-Pilchuck High School and Tulalip, as well as serving with the Everett Royals. Through these experiences, he has developed a reputation for demanding accountability while building genuine relationships with the athletes he coaches.

Beyond football, Coach Boyd is deeply committed to youth development and community involvement. He regularly participates in community events and initiatives focused on supporting young people and strengthening the communities around him. Meleana Turner-Fa'atafuga serves as the Secretary for the North Sound Storm, bringing a strong background in collegiate athletics, academics, organization, and a lifelong passion for sports to the Storm front office.

A multi-sport athlete from an early age, Mele grew up playing softball, basketball, and volleyball, in a family where participation in sports was practically mandatory. Athletics played a major role in shaping her work ethic, discipline, competitiveness, and commitment to teamwork. Football was also a constant part of her upbringing, giving Mele a deep appreciation for the game and the culture surrounding it.

Her softball career earned her an opportunity to continue playing at the collegiate level on a softball scholarship at Everett Community College, where she excelled both on the field and in the classroom. During her collegiate career, Mele received Division I interest and offers from prominent programs including UCLA, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. Ultimately, she chose to remain close to her family while continuing to pursue her education and athletic career at EvCC.

That decision proved to be a defining chapter in her journey. Mele earned her Associate Degree in Nursing while becoming a standout student-athlete, receiving top honors for her accomplishments in both academics and athletics.

Today, Mele brings that same attention to detail, responsibility, and dedication to her role with the Storm. As Secretary, she helps support the organization behind the scenes, contributing to the coordination, organization, and day-to-day operations that keep the front office moving forward.

Now a wife and mother, Mele continues to pass her love of sports on to the next generation. She is raising a son who has developed a passion for football, carrying on the family tradition that has been such a meaningful part of her own life.

A lifelong athlete. A dedicated student. A proud mother. And a Storm family member committed to helping build something bigger than the game.
